Paper piecing for Life 5

It's a bit tricky but I'm getting there.  Even with an enlarged photocopy, you only get a rough idea of what goes where, and you end up having to invent quite a bit.

Quite often, the folds and turns, don't become obvious until I've painted in the shadows.

  1. I am so impressed with your skills doing these after I spent a whole day paper piecing just on 'normal' block. I am so tempted to try one of your 3d type quilts.

  2. Yep, I'm going to do one eventually which has a background of numerous draping quilts all pieced in this way, and a bod in front. It'll be called Life's too Short!!

Hope the piecing is going well Sally. I left a message on FB to say 11 stitches per inch approx.

  3. I get a bit scared working from patterns, even ones that I've devised myself and I've never done any serious paper piecing so I am somewhat in awe of these quilts. I tried some very basic paper piecing on a Journal Quilt but the shapes were so simple they didn't really need it.

  4. By the way, here's a call for entry I came across for which your work would be welcomed and celebrated!
